Los Angeles, CA (September 25, 2024). Tomorrow, the Oscar®-qualifying animated short by director, writer, and animator Aryasb Feiz, and produced by BadStache Animation Studio and Rising Tides Films, tells a touching and inspirational story of resilience, friendship, and survival. Set in the vibrant yet tricky streets of 1970s Shiraz, Iran, TOMORROW follows the journey of a 10-year-old urchin as he navigates the harsh realities of daily life. Amidst countless obstacles at home and his rough neighborhood, the plucky young boy forms an unlikely bond with a stray dog, a friendship that forever changes both their lives.

Director Aryasb Feiz’s viral animated short film MR. INDIFFERENT, with +250 million views, is used to teach kindness worldwide and has won numerous awards. Despite challenging circumstances, growing up in Shiraz, Aryasb’s commitment to storytelling and animation is evident in his deeply personal projects. Feiz is the founder of Badstache Studio, a cutting-edge CG animation studio in Iran, employing talent from around the world.

Logline: Aryasb Feiz says, “I wanted to explore the ambiguity of morality in desperate situations and how it forces us to make impossible choices.”  Feiz’s heartfelt storytelling captures the essence of childhood innocence and the deep emotional ties that can flourish in even the harshest lives.

Tomorrow has already earned over 15 nominations at major film festivals. Winning at the Foyle Film Festival places it in the running for consideration at the 97th Academy Awards®.

Sadia Ashraf, screenwriter, director is founder of Rising Tides Films. She is currently developing two animated feature films she wrote, INAYA and ELIF. She is co-directing UNMARRIAGEABLE. For which she also penned the script, and producing MY QUINCEANERA, with her writing partner, Mad TV screenwriter Rick Najera.

The film’s producer, Sadia Ashraf is founder of Rising Tides Films. She says: “TOMORROW beautifully captures the strength of the human spirit, in the journey of an indomitable child. Aryasb’s animation highlights the value and power of connection, even in dark times.”

The film’s animation supervisor, Kaveh Ruintan, has over ten years of experience working on animated feature and VFX films. He has supervised the animation of blockbuster movies. Such as ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA, GHOSTBUSTERS, AFTERLIFE, CRUELLA, SONIC 2, PINOCCHIO and several TV series.
