Veinticinco (a myth of the brain) opens at The Tank performs on March 10th and 11th. It is developed by Isabella Uzcátegui.

Isabella Uzcátegui is an actor, director and writer. She was raised all over Latin America but, she now lives in Brooklyn, New York. IsabelIa graduated NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, where she trained at Strasberg, The Classical Theater and Experimental Theater Wing.

Isabella Uzcátegui is a member of Theater Mitu where she is an adjunct artist. She likes to work in many artistic fields. “I explore acting, filmmaking, dance-theater, technology, classical texts, psychology, genealogy, the human body as archive, oral-traditions, and being Latina,” says Isabella.

Four voices share a story of the brain. To be Latinx is to exist in a contradictory state: to live in a language but feel in another, to dream in one body but move in the other.

Veinticinco is an investigation of identity through language across all its forms. It’s an attempt to communicate and give structure to that which has no structure, because it exists in movement, memories, dreams, and song.

How do we make sense of dreams? Of memories? Of language? The chaos of the human experience is reduced to the electrical synapses and neural pathways. Our lives are based on the myth of a brain. Veinticinco shares another side of the story.

Veinticinco will take place on Tuesday, March 10th and Wednesday, March 11th, at 9.30pm at the renowned, non-profit producing and presenting venue The Tank located at 312 West 36th Street, New York. Tickets are 15$.
