Reading, UK – Reading filmmaker, Eric Garson (The Carter Sanction) announces the “The Middleman“. The Middleman is a British independent feature film set in Reading, UK. The Middleman is written and will be directed by Eric Garson. The film is scheduled, storyboarded, and ready for production. Eric is currently raising funding for the project through an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign. Meanwhile, the filmmakers are seeking locations, equipment, hiring cast and crew. The MIddleman will be Eric Garson’s debut independent feature film.
Story: The Middleman is about a young mechanic called Terry. Who’s best friend is murdered, leaving Terry with his last procession, a suitcase of drugs. A police investigation begins into the murder. In the following days, Terry is threatened by a gangster to hand over the drugs or face the same fate as his fallen friend.
Meet the cast of “The Middleman“
The cast of “The Middleman” are Joe Deacon, Spencer Allum, Tony Deufemia, Emily Ann Jack, Matthew Nakatani-Brown & Steve Overton have already been cast. They have all worked with the director before. The rest of the 16 strong casts are being confirmed as we speak.
For the crew, Eric will be working with long-time collaborators sound editor & recordist Sophie Marchant and camera operator Krzysztof Rodzik. Both are extremely experienced and skilled. Sophie and Krzysztof have worked on all of Eric’s previous films. The rest of the crew is being recruited.

The Middleman’s screenplay, script breakdown, 17-day shooting schedule, storyboards, concept art portraits, animatic, and budget are ready.

Eric has made nine short films, his best films include “Deep Under” (2019) and “Whisper” (2019). The Middleman will be his debut feature film. The Middleman screenplay took over a year to write.

Eric has made nine short films, his best films include “Deep Under” (2019) and “Whisper” (2019). The Middleman will be his debut feature film. The Middleman The film was born out of practicality due to the challenges of funding. Thus the film is set in Eric’s hometown Reading, UK. Many of the cast and crew are from the Reading and Thames Valley Region of the UK. The locations are practical and affordable, whilst aiming for a heightened cinematic experience.
The film explores the contradiction between our private and public lives. And, how our inner flaws & secrets can drive our destiny. All within a sprawling crime drama. The film is inspired by the great black and white crime films of the past such as On The Waterfront (1954), The Big Heat, (1953) Heat (1995) & 36th Precinct (2004).
