Tapestry is a true life family drama based on the life experiences of Rob DePalo who is a retail banker in New York/New Jersey. Tapestry is directed by Ken Kushner and co-written by Ken Kushner and Rob DepPalo. Rob is also a producer, actor and a screenwriter that is known for the film One Blood (2012).
About 9 years ago, some unfortunate events began to happen in my life which led to me writing the screenplay for the film “TAPESTRY”, says Rob. This special film celebrates life, honors God and gives hope to people in the world who lose their way and feel at life has dealt them a bad hand.
Synopsis: Tapestry is the story of a man (Stephen Baldwin) in the midst of a heavy personal and spiritual crisis. Aided by his Father (Burt Young), and his family, he embarks on a personal journey that will forever change him.
As things start to unravel in Ryan’s (Stephen Baldwin) life, he is left feeling vulnerable, insignificant and wondering why. With his priorities on everything but God, he begins to isolate himself from those around him as his hardships multiply. In the midst of the big-picture perspective his struggles give him, God places people around him to help him more clearly understand the profound plan He has for our lives. He relearns how to truly rely on God through the suffering life brings and how to be confident in the intricate plan that threads together perfectly like a tapestry.
Stephen Baldwin plays the character I developed based on the depression I suffered and the sadness I experienced from challenges at my job, in my family, with my marriage and ailing mother.
Tapestry was an official selection at International Christian Film & Music Festival, The IndieFEST Film Awards, International Online Web Fest, Green Mountain Film Festival, and Winter Film Awards.
The film released in January of 2019 and co-stars Burt Young (Paulie in the Rocky films) and Tina Louise (known for her ICONIC role in Gilligan’s Island as Ginger the movie star). The film is streaming on Amazon Prime, iTunes, Christian cinema, Comcast Xfinity, and VUDU. It is also available in DVD.
