International Film Base has just signed a worldwide distribution deal with Indie Film Rights for the Supernatural Thriller, Tabernacle 101. The film will be released theatrically in the US on the 30th of August 2019, followed by VOD, DVD and Blu-Ray.

Tabernacle 101 is a film that tells the story of an atheist, played by David Hov, who sets out to disprove the afterlife. Through his mission he accidentally opens a portal to hell that wreak havoc on earth. It is now up to him to prevent the destruction of the world.

The film was shot in the Blue Mountains and Sydney and has a production budget of

AUD$3 Million. By using only the best crew from around the country, and very talented cast, the film manages to not only deliver cinematically, but also tell a compelling story that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

It is for this reason that it was not difficult to find a distributor. Although the producers received a number of offers from a variety of distributors, it was Indie Film Rights who signed the deal. They offered a worldwide cinematic, VOD and DVD/Blu-ray distribution deal on multiple platforms, with the exception of the Australian NZ Territory. The creators of the film feel that it will be more beneficial to the film and the Australian industry to distribute the film locally, through a local distributor.

We have not signed with an Australian distributor yet, this will be our next step.” says Producer and Director, Colm O’Murchu.

Tabernacle 101 will have its cinematic premiere and release in the US on the30th of August 2019 at the Arena in Los Angeles.

Colm O’Murchu, creator of the film, is known for Directing films such as Dealing with Destiny and The Makeover. Colm wrote the story, directed and produced the film, driven by his passion for film making. Yolandi Franken who co-produced with Colm was impressed with his commitment and persistence throughout the making of the film.

Making this film had some very unexpected challenges. To be able to create a great supernatural film on the budget that we had, was very challenging.”, says producer Yolandi Franken.

There were some very tricky cinematic scenes, rich with SFX and VFX. Tabernacle 101 was shot in the middle of winter in the Blue Mountains, which created some very challenging shooting days, especially for the freezing night shoots.

To add to the supernatural aspect of the film, the editors made a very strange and baffling discovery on the footage.  Experts are currently looking into the occurrence to establish whether the image captured on film was indeed something sinister or just coincidence.
