Los Angeles, CA (February 21, 2024). Sharon Lawrence, before becoming a professional actress, had a successful career in PR and advertising in America. Upon her return to the UK, she pursued her dream of becoming a professional actress.
In her own words, Sharon says, “I have always been passionate about performing and could be found at an early age dancing and acting in the safety of my home but didn’t actually entertain a public audience until my early twenties, when I returned from living and working in Washington, DC. After my first few performances, I fell in love with acting and this mad but wonderful industry”.
Sharon trained at Rose Bruford College where is now a regular practitioner, running lectures for the students. “There are two people who have been instrumental in my journey so far. One of them is Robert Bastian, one of my first drama teachers, who is sadly no longer with us, but who was a huge influence on me going on to train professionally, and the other is Tony James, my tutor at Rose Bruford, who I learned so much from and continues to be an inspiration and mentor”.
An experienced and versatile actress, Sharon Lawrence has an expansive career that saw her appear in many notable and award-winning films and TV productions, including EastEnders for BBC.
One of the first films she worked on, Victims, was screened at the Raindance Film Festival. The short film Mano a Mono, where Sharon played a lead role, premiered at Cannes in 2015 and went on to win many awards, including a nomination for Best Actress at the Maverick Movie Awards in 2016. Sharon Lawrence won Best Actress in a Movie Scene at the I Am Film Awards, has been nominated for an award at the London Festival in 2019, and won British Actress of the Month in 2017 awarded by The British Filmmakers Alliance.
Her latest feature film, Repentance, where she plays one of the principals in the role of Molly, has just been released on all digital platforms in the UK, and will be out in the US and Asia in 2024. The film also stars Danielle Harold, John Altman and Edward Peel.
Sharon Lawrence has recently wrapped production on the short film Sage. Starring Lesley Joseph, and she is currently in pre-production on a few projects slated for 2024.
She is best known for portraying gritty and dramatic characters. Such as a cult leader in Skinned, and a police officer in a number of productions.
Sharon Lawrence has recently finished filming the independent film Angel of Auschwitz. There she got to play the challenging role of Polish doctor Janina Wegierska. In The Trilogy, Sharon Lawrence will perform the part of Lucille. A teacher who is married to a retired vet, Fabian, interpreted by Jonathan Pienaar.
Lucille is a very good woman who takes care of Dani. A young girl interpreted by Stella Hinsen. Who is involved in a destructive lesbian relationship with the leading character of the three films, interpreted by Stephanie Tripp.
”I started on this journey a little later than some. But I have been incredibly lucky to have worked on some great projects. And as I continue on this path I look forward to working on many more amazing productions and continuing to learn and grow as a performer. I feel very privileged to be doing something that I love and feel grateful to everyone who has given me an opportunity”.
The Trilogy is the highly anticipated project that is touching on sensitive and very actual subjects of our time. Such a freedom of speech, the sexualization of children, Satanism, and pedophilia. The Trilogy is the latest creation of Maestro Bruno Pischiutta, who wrote the original screenplays.
