Topical Satirical Comedy Sets Digital Debut for North American VOD Platforms and DVD on May 21, 2024
Freestyle Digital Media Acquires Feature “RHAPSODY IN JUSTICE” For May Release
Los Angeles, CA (April 25, 2024). Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, has acquired North American VOD rights to the satirical topical feature RHAPSODY IN JUSTICE, which will be available to rent/own on all North American digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms worldwide, as well as on DVD, starting on May 21, 2024, through Freestyle Digital Media.
Following 3 journalists, RHAPSODY IN JUSTICE portrays a Harlem-based cable news program born after the election of Donald J. Trump as President. Showing the idiosyncrasies and complexities of racism during the Trump era — journalists Sista Truth, Sista Wanna Be Free and Sista Tell it Like It Is — are confronted with the impact of “false news” permeating the conservative news network known as “Coyote and Friends” and by its commentator, Sucker Partisan. Interpersonal conflicts and danger confront the journalists who pursue answers about controversial topics such as racism and the impact of Trump’s political prominence. Influenced by the civil rights struggles of the past and guided by the mystic spirit of children who magically appear, the journalists’ journey reaches a dramatic conclusion.
Written and directed by Anthony J. Dixon, Rhapsody in Justice was produced by Dixon, Linda Cofer-Hawkins, Imani Logan, and Ina Norris. Rhapsody in Justice features an ensemble cast that includes Ambre Anderson (‘Sista Tells It Like it is /Judy Monroe’) seen in Never Would Have Made It: The Marvin Sapp Story. Tom Hanks Rising Star Recipient, Yvette Yaya Williams (‘Sista Wanna B-Free’), Imani Logan (‘Keisha Taken/Sista Truth’), Channing Jackson (‘Get Off Me Brotha’) seen in Blue Bloods. Aixa Kendrick (‘Mrs. Wise/Da Sista’) of The Walking Dead: Dead City. Chantal Maurice (‘Sally Sunshine’) as seen on Grey’s Anatomy and Wicked City, and former Nick, Jr. host Hillary Hawkins (‘Sista Love’).

Through a blend of reality and humor, we are hopeful that RHAPSODY IN JUSTICE will be the catalyst for conversations of understanding and growth.”
