REVIEW: by Peter Nichols | B+
Racism is rarely discoursed publicly outside the UK and America. And its almost as though it doesn’t exist elsewhere. This topical issue is not limited within the UK and US. A Swedish filmmaker, Jimmy Olsson has put a change to this thinking. He has brought the independent film community’s attention to racism in Sweden, his home country.
2nd Class is a riveting tale that hits the nail on its head. It is direct, sincerely accurate and special.
Logline: Charlotte has a new job teaching. When she is attacked on a night out with two male friends, it turns out that the Nazi who attacked her is father to one of her second grade students. She must choose to react in the appropriate way of choose hate.
Watch Trailer for 2ND CLASS written and directed by Jimmy Olsson
2nd Class is a very good indie film, made accurately to deliver its message without distractions. It take the issue of racisms as treats it head on as a topical issue. It also resolves that love triumphs over evil, and its such that it seeks to teach kids the need to love than to hate.
I love the simplicity of 2nd Class, and its delivery is indie-raw. We love to see Jimmy take on more issues, and turn 2nd Class into a feature film.
