Moonfaze is a groundbreaking Indie Film Festival Showcasing Works from Feminist Filmmakers Around the Globe
Filmmaker Premstar Santana got tired of waiting for permission to screen her own films, and decided to create a film festival of her own. “The idea struck me like a bolt of badass lighting”, says Santana, who created Moonfaze to be a safe space for feminist filmmakers and their films to shine”.
Moonfaze’s mission is to engender an all-encompassing peaceful activism that elevates marginalized voices, shedding light on the pervasiveness of misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, and ableism in our everyday experiences.
“Premstar Santana and all the filmmakers involved in the very first Moonfaze Film Festival are bold, unapologetic, and creating new life-giving narratives. I look forward to the 2nd Annual Festival. You should too.” – Lisa Bolekaja, BITCH FLICKS
The December festival is a celebration across genre, showcasing films that foreground a feminist viewpoint and tell HER story: a critical, political, cinematic take on the many levels of oppression we navigate every day as women, transgender people, and people of color.
Film submissions are open to all feminists, regardless of location & gender identity.
