thriller.
In the summer of 1995, award winning filmmaker, Greg Morgan, gave life to his debut 35mm feature film, 17 & Under. The film was a drama about a seventeen-year-old murderer sentenced to live with a family that has lost a son to a random act of violence. 17 & Under went on to be distributed worldwide and here in the US including Blockbuster, Hollywood Video and 20/20 Video. 17 & Under was highly received in screenings and press reviews, winning several awards including the Grand Prize at the Saguaro Film Festival ’98 and the Audience Award in the 1999 Hermosa Beach Film Festival.

A few years later, Greg’s next feature, The Playaz Court, (2000) followed. The film found distribution, this time with Artisan Entertainment and eventually picked up for Starz Channel. The awards from The Playaz Court just sweetened the pot, yet after this second success, he felt the need to pause. It was, in this long breath, that Greg charted a new course: Writing the screenplay, The Substance of Things Hoped For. Steeped in visual metaphor, haunting and visceral, Substance received multiple awards and accolades. It was released in 2006.
In between shooting films, Greg found time to pen the first half of low budget feature Party Animalz again for Artisan Entertainment which was released in May 2004.

Greg’s current feature, The Boatman, signals his arrival in a genre he loves, a dramatic thriller.
Learning how to do things inexpensively and efficiently on the set, Greg Morgan became a big advocate of guerilla, “do-it- any-way-you-can,” filmmaking. Aside from working on his own films, he would also work as a consultant to other “indy” directors and producers. His longevity within the independent film arena is impressive, spanning twenty years. His credits can be found on the industry known IMDB database and articles about him or his films can be found on the web.
