You’re an experienced actor. How much creative, energy (focus) do you put into your lead roles in films?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
For me, it’s all about homework, before delving into a character. If you have put in the hard work to understand the characters’ emotions, drives, and experiences the flow of the work comes into place once on set – that and of course, knowing your lines thoroughly.

Once you are prepared you can creatively feel free and work to your most truthful abilities.

You’ve worked on numerous international TV shows and films. How has each impacted your progress?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
Every project is a new learning experience. I’m constantly trying to push myself, to find new elements to my craft. When I was on the set of Bull CBS working with Michael Witherby, he was so free and made the character his – he knew his character so well, it was almost himself and he was no longer acting, I did not see a character – I saw him.

It made me understand that I must not act, but rather become the character as yourself thus finding the truth within the performance as the character and yourself.

When you booked a recurring role on CBS Tommy, how did that make you feel?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
I was ecstatic! Working alongside Eddie Falco was phenomenal! In my eyes, she is one of the most talented Actors at this time.

You have just finished shooting a leading role in the feature film Driftwood, how was that process?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
Working with Brendan Pike, a Dan Patrick show director – was awesome! He really let us Actors improve and play with our roles. I play a gritty, dangerous gang leader, I was the only female on set – but I was strong, scary, and tough. I felt so empowered. I can’t wait for the film to have its worldwide premiere.

What actor do you long to work with?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
Vincent D’onofrio.

Bulky Shoulders Short Film

Why?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
I have appeared in numerous Feature Films – Tommy battles the silver Sea dragon which premiered at SXSW, Midsummer Nights dreaming on Amazon Prime directed by Mathew Gasda, and many more. I have also guest-starred in numerous TV shows in CBS dramas and worked on leading roles in shorts and theatre.

One of my favorite projects ever was the lead role in international singer-songwriter Zeferelli’s music video. We shot in both America and Australia, it was awesome traveling with a best friend and a tight crew – the Music video went viral in Australia on the TV show RAGE.

I would say I am gritty, I have hustled, and never wait for the phone call – put yourself out there!

Tell us about your new exciting projects?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
I am playing a leading role in the upcoming film Bulky Shoulders under CMIFilm and No2 Mauro productions – the film shall premier worldwide in Spring 2023!

You have also thrown your hand into writing and directing, how did that begin?
Chelsea Ingram (CI):
I wrote a full-length play Keep Calling, I was very fortunate to have it picked up and produced in both Sydney Austra and off-broadway at the Hudson Guild Theatre in NYC.

Both runs were extremely well received, I won the best actress in a festival run and the shows were completely sold out. Since then I have begun writing and directing short films under the production company CMIFilms, we focus on stories in rural areas with underrepresented characters.
