The League of United Latin American Citizens (L.U.L.A.C.) the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States has partnered with filmmaker, social entrepreneur and speaker Jesus Nebot to present his new film “American Nightmare“.
“We are beyond honored to support Director Jesus Nebot and his short film “American Nightmare.” His vision brings forward images that educate instead of divide; images that bring humanity to a dehumanized process for undocumented immigrants. We urge you to see this film and share it with your children and families. The solutions are there to be found. Together we can change the world” said Civil Rights Attorney and L.U.L.A.C.’s National President Domingo Garcia.
Award-winning filmmaker Jesus Nebot has been a feature speaker in over 200 universities and civic organizations on issues related to leadership, social justice and immigration. His commitment is to use his speaking engagements, training seminars and artistic endeavors as writer, director, producer and actor to raise awareness about our common humanity.
“I am honored to have an organization such as L.U.L.A.C., which has been standing for human rights for almost a century, as a partner. Our common goal is to use my film ‘American Nightmare’ as a creative tool to speak about the unfair criminalization of unauthorized immigrants and bring to light their contributions to our society. Only then we will succeed in passing a good comprehensive immigration reform that will benefit our country and immigrants alike” said filmmaker Jesus Nebot in Los Angeles.
A former undocumented immigrant, Jesus went from being homeless to financially free in 7 years by building a real estate company that provides housing to those most in need. Jesus is also the winner of 26 international awards for his work as writer, director, producer and star of the immigration feature film NO TURNING BACK which has been sold to 92 countries. NO TURNING BACK was inspired on actual events and brings awareness to the importance of transcending our judgments of one another so we can all can live peacefully and harmoniously in a diverse world. Due to its powerful message, the film has become one of the most sought after movies in the college circuit and arguably the most popular Hispanic Heritage Month program in the country.

for a mother and her 5 year old daughter when the zero tolerance policy is applied to them. This timely piece offers a compelling reflection on the political climate that has led to the recent separation of 2,654 migrant children from their parents at the U.S./Mexican Border and awakens our empathy towards them. It also brings to our awareness the discriminatory use of the word “illegal” to unfairly refer to and criminalize unauthorized Immigrants.
AMERICAN NIGHTMARE is Mr. Jesus Nebot’s and L.U.L.A.C.’s current platform to invite a nationwide debate about the need to implement good, common sense solutions to our immigration crisis by focusing on the root cause that is forcing so many people south of the border to risk their lives and leave their homelands. To that end, Mr. Nebot will be on a speaking tour during the upcoming Hispanic Heritage Month presenting his highly popular educational program “UNAUTHORIZED IMMIGRATION: CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS”, which has been endorsed by numerous students and non-profit organizations, including the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
