Los Angeles, CA – The Producers of the Award-winning movie, LIFT have released Kaminer Studios’ (company) debut feature film on Amazon Prime. The film is reminiscent of Taxi Driver blended with the aura of a modern tech-age and an Uber-sque App in a City bustling with life.
“We are elated at the response we received from the festival run,” said Producers Katherine Lujan and Alexander Kaminer. LIFT was nominated 2019 Best Director and Best Screenplay at Blowup Film Fest Chicago; won Grand Jury Prize in Mystic Film Fest in Mystic, CT, and was an Official Selection at Oakville Film Festival in Ontario, Canada. The film was also mentioned by Cinepobre, Quora, DMSD blog, and in Sunjournal as Best Feature of 2019 and is under-the-radar to go into a series. “I can’t wait to bring more of LIFT to life. I think people completely relate to the characters who live in the current days of ride-sharing and app technologies and when it goes to series we’ll be able to explore more exquisitely funny situations” said Alexander who is the writer, director, cinematographer, and co-star in the film.
Synopsis: A remarkable journey of a driver on the same eventful night.
The Official Trailer for LIFT written and directed by Alexander Kaminer
“What would you do when your own conscience that goes by the name of Jimmy the trickster makes you earn money using a miraculous app called LIFT that sets you on an ethereal journey where you’ll overcome your own ego, find true love and finally realize your dream?” LIFT is raw and unpredictable. It screams to find itself in this world, like a newborn child whose mother’s womb can no longer supply. It comes out of its own will to survive and live; its matter is uncontrollable, a creation of itself, it must be and it has to reach.
With the rapid development of technology and ride-sharing apps, we’ve created this unique film that works for a wide international audience, with brand-in possibilities targeting many businesses. LIFT not only follows great examples of independent filmmaking but is also a proven concept that works well. This film was based on a no-budget concept that looks like a million-dollar picture. It’s a great example of how we can actualize our dreams into films using today’s technology.
You can find LIFT on Amazon Prime for now. It’s going to hit other VOD platforms, DVD stores, and hopefully on some airlines! Keep your fingers crossed!
Principal photography took place in December 2018 and continued through the winter of 2019 in Los Angeles. In addition to his roles as writer, director, actor, and producer on the project, Alexander intends to produce and direct some new features that already have been penned and re-written during the COVID shutdown. It’s been a very creative time, to say the least!
