Alrik Bursell Interview: The Rage of Oscar as told by Director and Producer Alrik Bursell

“We wanted to challenge ourselves by telling a very emotional story that explores the relationship between sex, anger and violence. This is also the first sex scene I ever shot and I wanted to do something that was powerful, raw and that didn’t look like every other sex scene before it. says Alrik Bursell.

The Rage stars Oakland California actors, L. Jeffrey Moore, Sophia LaPaglia and Gretta Sosine and the short film was crowdfunded successfully with Kickstarter.

Alrik explains that “Given the world of the story The Rage might be a difficult movie to watch but I think it’s much more important than ever to be aware of the relationship between sex and violence and the passion that can come out of anger.”

The Rage as a movie has a message, we noticed some audiences pick up on this message but others don’t. Overall the movie tends to spark a conversation and get people talking about these issues.

The Rage has screened at 15th Oakland International Film FestivalShortz! Film Festival – Z Finder Pro Award (2017), National Black Theater Festival (2017), and 5th Pictoclik Film Festival (2017)
