The New York Times wrote:
“This may be the first Spider-Man feature to qualify as a great New York movie, drawn from the life of the city rather than outdated stereotypes.” – A.O. Scott | The New York Times
The film also paid a special tribute to the late American comic book writer, editor, publisher and producer Stan Lee, whose collaboration with others at Marvel created a legacy. Lee rose to fame by co-creating numerous popular fictional characters including Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Thor, The Hulk, and Black Panther among others.
