Interview with Rosario Maitland

My name is Rosario Anglin Maitland born Oct 6 1972 and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 1987 she came to the US to live with her parents Allard Anglin and Gertrudez Pascal.At the age of 19 she went to Ophelia Devore Modeling School to become a model, once she finished the program she went to Silk Modeling Agency and Participated in Runway shows. She then began to to Have interest in the acting world. once she was told by many that she has great ability to be an actor because of her outgoing personality she then begun to participate in Drama classes and from there her journey began.

indieactivity: Did you study acting?
Rosario: My interest in acting begun once I was told by many that I have great ability to be an actor because of My outgoing and/or stern personality. I also am a big fan of Halle Berry she was the individual that inspired me the most in my love for pursuing my acting career because of the way she carries herself. From that point on I began to participate in Drama classes as well as joining Robert Milo School to study the different techniques of acting and from there My journey began.

indieactivity; What acting technique do you use?
Rosario: Honestly, i have not yet used any techniques that i learned from because i am still deciding on which techniques to master and use since i am an intermediate actor but once i make my decision i will most likely use it

indieactivity: Do you take courses to improve your craft?
Rosario: Yes i do, i took classes at Acting Out Studios with Lance Camerino and from there i launched out with Nick Cunts professional acting studio for a tactical class and then i ended up in Robert Milo Studio taking viewpoint techniques Mariana and 101 acting with Candace Mabry and last but not least Voice over with Lauren Hudson which was a Improv Class.

indieactivity: What acting books do you read?
Rosario: I read power of an actor by Ivana Chubbuck and improv for actors and actor business by Andrew Reilly.

indieactivity: How do you keep fit as an actor?
Rosario: Acting is a bit challenging and I usually do lots of Yoga and meditation to keep my mind clear and in peace to release stress.

indieactivity: How do you prepare for a role when you get it?
Rosario: Once I get my scripts i always read over it first then from there little by little I act it at out with a partner like a friend/family member. It always help to have someone by your side.

indieactivity: How do you create a character from a script into a person?
Rosario: Whatever character I am suppose to be I always put myself in that character’s position I close my eyes and imagine the scenario and try to act it out little by little.

indieactivity: How do you stay fresh on a production set?
Rosario: I always take deep breaths and stay hydrated and go over my lines

indieactivity: Describe a memorable character you played?
Rosario: The Herts when I played the role of a rich wife I really enjoyed this position because the feeling of being/acting rich its really fun.

indieactivity: Explain one creative choice you took on set?
Rosario: I really never interfered with the producers set but however there has been time in plays where i give advice to the director

indieactivity: What do you want most from a director?
Rosario: I would like for the director to be honest comprehensive and motivational

indieactivity: What actors do you long to work with?
Rosario: Leonardo Dicaprio

indieactivity: Why?
Rosario: I love the characters in the movies he plays like in “ The Great Gatsby” and “Django”

indieactivity: What advice would you give to actors
Rosario: The advice I would give an actor is to believe in him or herself and stay strong, positive and motivated because acting is not a career that you become famous overnight be patient and don’t get overwhelmed

indieactivity: Briefly write about your career?
Rosario: The films such as Sharon and The Sewing Circle, The Cleanzing of Lake Lanier (The Girlfriend), and Black Latina (mom) are the top three films I have participated in which motivated me a lot to do better in future movies or films I make.
