My name is Ivoline Ngwijong, I am Cameroonian. I studied at the ‘Cameroon College of Arts, Science and Technology’. I acted for the first time in theater, way back in 2004, the play was titled ‘Violence Against Woman and Child in Cameroon’. My first acting role on TV was in 2005, in a production titled ‘American Wonda’. I am an alumnus of Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts, Class of 2009 -2010. I started dancing at age 7. I’ve been in several dance groups both in Cameroon and Nigeria.

Explain one creative choice you took on set?

It was a romantic scene, in a production. I imagined my past romantic moments, and played the role just like I recalled it, at that time and it helped the scene became real.

How would you describe your acting

Acting is reacting to an act. (any act) The most memorable screen character I played was ”Mama”

Do you get offer from other film industries like Hollywood

Not yet and hoping to grab any opportunity.

What do you think actor can do to get into Hollywood or Nollywood

Nollywood should get more relaxed, natural and take enough time to make acting believeable. They have the talents.

Did you study acting

Yes, I studied acting. I went into acting when I felt I discovered that I had talent to interprete stories. I followed my passion and joined groups.

Do you still take courses in acting to increase your knowledge of your craft

Am not taking any now but I wish to if any opportunity arises.

What do you want from a director during a production

I want time to feel relaxed and get ready.

Do you work based on instincts or do you use a acting technique

I operate on instincts but technique to me is being creative during acting on set or theatre. Its automatic and fits in when and where it works during acting.

What situation helps you character during a production

 Imagination helps me a lot.

When you are offered a role, what do you do

I read the script as many times as possible, i rehearse several times and i will always take directions from a director.

How do you take a character in a script to a honest living person

Believable.

What acting technique do you use

I don’t have a particular technique. I flow as i understand the character then any other technical thing can come in between. That’s if it will help better the reacting.
