I’m a SAG-AFTRA member and attended the summer program at American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA). Studying commercial, audition, and on camera technique with numerous New York casting directors. Currently studying improv at Magnet Theater. How would you describe your acting Comedic- my idols are Lucy Ball and Gracie Allen How did you get into acting Sophomore year, my first class was acting, I moved in the middle of the year so I was the new student at school. I had to do improv and I got a suggestion, started acting, next thing I knew my classmates were laughing and that when it hit, I wanted to make people laugh! Did you study acting Yes, started in high school with the Drama Program, then with Don Shook as member of US Actors Company, Michelle De Long at ACTS, OKC. Moved to NYC and studied at AADA Summer Program. Do you work based on instincts or do you use an acting technique Yes I believe when acting on instinct the truth in acting comes out. What acting technique do you use I use a mixture of Meisner and Method Describe a few wrong impressions about acting That you can’t make a living off your career choice, you have to have a back up plan. Do you still take courses in acting to increase your knowledge of your craft Of course, you should always keep you skills sharp. I study with various casting directors all over NYC and since I’m a SAG AFTRA member I take classes at SAG Conservatory a program offered to SAG members. I also take improv classes over at Magnet Theater. What books do you read I love reading people’s biography. I find people’s life story interesting. Currently just finished Carol Burnett This Time Together. How do you keep in shape as an actor I keep my skills fresh with acting classes, I say positive affirmations, I have a great support of friends. What physical exrcises do you do to keep fit LOL I’m a marathon runner so constantly training for next marathon. But I keep fit by taking workout classes that interest me that go beyond just a good physical workout. For example Intensati and Yoga are great for body, mind and soul. Since I live in NYC I tend to walk to where I need to go so that helps and I also believe in portion control when it comes to eating. When you are offered a role, what do you do I celebrate, I think after every little success you should take a moment to celebrate because if you don’t celebrate the small moments when the big moment come you won’t know it and or you will overlook it.
