In 2006, I started modeling. My first show was at Howard University and I did that for 7 1/2 years. I have done tons of gigs in the DC ,MD, VA as well as Atlanta, Philly, NYC Fashion week, and LA. In 2014, a friend told me that he had landed a role on Law & Order SVU and he had given me the contact information. I sent in my resume in and was selected as an extra! At that moment, the love I had for modeling quickly shifted over to acting and that’s when I truly found my passion. I started booking more gigs. My story motivates me to keep going.

What acting technique do you use
Believe it or not, I’ve never taken a formal acting class. I go on my gut and instincts. I like to play my life out through the character.
What wrong impressions do actors hold about acting
There are some things I like to tell other actors such as that they should never become an actor for the perks that include money, car, homes. You will should do it for the love because all that over stuff will come in time. Always stay humble and hungry and don’t be afraid to help others with information because we all need help. To be blessed, you must bless someone else. No one will just give you the opportunity to do anything so when you’re faced with that, you must create your own opportunity and keep working until you get to the point that people know who you are. Lastly, you must know that you will get slammed with “no’s” but dont let that stop you. Keep going because you only need one yes.

Do you take courses to improve your craft
Currently I have not taken any classes but I believe I was blessed with a strong gift. I have plans to take classes to perfect my craft by the end of 2016
What acting books do you read
I haven’t read any good books lately, but I love listening to motivational speeches and learning all I can about the world around me.
How do you keep fit as an actor
I actually work out a lot! Working out allows me to clear my head and be able to think as well as getting stronger. Mentally, I stay away from negative vibes and I surround myself with positive people.
When you’re offered a role, what do you do next
Once I get my role or script, I read over it to get a feel for my lines and the scenes. Then I study my lines to lock them down which allows me to play the entire scene in my head.
How do you take a character in a script to a honest, believable and breathing person
Once I get my role, I get in tune with my star player. Is sit and think how this character crosses paths with my life. I’ve been through a lot so I can adapt quickly. As an actor, my job is to make my character believable.
How do you stay fresh on set
How do I stay in character? I go back over my scenes in my head. I also like to listen to my music so I can stay focused.
Briefly write about your career
In 2006, I was a model for 7 1/2 years. In 2014, I got my first acting gig and I started getting experience by doing work with shows like Veep, For My Man, The ID Channel, House of Cards and many more. I am currently working on a superhero comic book and I hope to have that out by 2017. I plan to move to California to pursue my dreams and hopes of making it big
