Ingrid Jean-Baptiste is honoured with the prestigious audience award by the Le Petit Journal
Ingrid Jean-Baptiste who is the founder of the Chelsea Film Festival has recently been awarded the prestigious Audience Award, for “The Trophies of French People Living Abroad” by the Le Petit Journal.
It’s always an encouraging gesture to the effort of such a person and her team who are doing their utmost to promote our culture, and the efforts of independent filmmakers home and abroad through a film festival, because it does take a lot to keep a festival running – a lot goes into planning a festival end-to-end.

“Cinema is a very powerful medium that impacts society. The tag line “Making the World a Better Place” illustrates how the selected films have a major role in changing the world and making it better! ” – Ingrid Jean Baptiste
Congratulations to Ingrid Jean-Baptiste for the award which we hope will put focus on the Chelsea Film Festival’s next edition bringing more global focus to the films coming out of the Chelsea Film Festival.
If you are a filmmaker with a film project, plan with your festival tour dates to include the Chelsea Film Festival.
The Chelsea Film Festival is an international film festival, enlightening the work of emerging filmmakers, producers and actors. It offers a wide range of films, such as documentaries and feature-lengths, focusing on the theme of “Global Issues”. It empowers the work of risk-taking storytellers and remains committed to its mission to discover and develop independent artists and audiences around the world.
“After a dreadful car accident, my acting career suddenly took a “slightly” different turn. I was sent to the Emergency Room along with seven other people (including my mom), with a concussion, a fractured spine and seven broken ribs, which meant I was unable me to walk for several weeks. Ironically, this is how the Chelsea Film Festival was born; I was forced to think outside the box!” – Ingrid Jean-Baptiste
The motto of the Chelsea Film Festival is “Make The World A Better Place”, and that is precisely what Ingrid Jean-Baptiste has been doing since the inception of the festival. Ingrid is passionate about supporting emerging and independent films around the world, it is not surprising it’s also the mission of the Chelsea Film Festival.
Did you know only 20% of female filmmakers have only been able to make more than one movie this decade? https://t.co/BLjDTnYXBt pic.twitter.com/eOO44jyGEx
