
The Ice Cream Truck is not your usual horror flick, but rather a deviation from that regular predictable formula that indie horror movies so often recycle. Mega Freels Johnston mixes comedy, romance with horror and the outcome is an invention that will make audiences uneasy.
Like any indie film writer-director, with budgetary constraints, and a small crew, Megan Freels Johnston chose an uneasy route to storytelling, and in our minds has exceeded our expectations.
Although we notice the narrative and tonal gaps in the storytelling The Ice Cream Truck is a watchable experience in a theatre, at home or on your device.
