Los Angeles, CA. FRIED is a 4 part mini-series set in London. A nihilistic, psychological thriller with dark comedic elements. It follows the lives of two minimum wage workers struggling to cope with their micro-managing supervisor. An unsympathetic therapist and mundane, failing lives in the capital.
Logline: A psychotic call-centre worker and a depressed waiter struggle with minimum wage life in London. Delving deeper into their alcohol and drug-fuelled violent fantasies, blurring the lines between reality and madness.
Fried explores the themes of poverty, mental illness, addiction and revenge. We watch them spiral violently out of control, descending into a labyrinth of madness, blood and destruction. Its influences span from cult films American Psycho, Filth, WithNail & I and Fight Club. Also to literary classics Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky. Orwell’s Down and Oout in Paris and London and Beckett’s Waiting for Godot.
Written, produced and starring Welsh actor Richard Goss, he self-financed the entire production through years of savings from his day jobs between acting roles, many of the experiences of which are incorporated into the plot.

Production Information
Originally written as a 2 minute scene for his show reel, Fried was born out of the frustrations of lead actor, writer and producer Richard Goss. After a final conversation with his then agent at the time, who advised him to think about an alternative career, and more determined than ever to carve his own path, he began to write a short scene based on his own experiences of working and living in London.
Taking inspiration from the hilarious, depressing, bizarre and at times dangerous situations he’d found himself in over the years, including being electrocuted whilst working at one particular bar, he unearthed a wealth of personal stories to draw upon and incorporated many of these into the plot. This proved the catalyst to evolve the short scene into a full mini-series.
Putting together a budget of just £2,000 of personal savings, and utilizing industry contacts, crew members he’d worked with over the years and friends, production began.
Converting the room he was living in at the time into a film set (removing all furniture including the bed and sleeping on the floor for weeks at a time), principal photography was completed over the course of a year, including three shutdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic placing severe restrictions on the filming schedule.
