“The movie combines visual aesthetics that recreate the atmosphere and characters of the noir genre. Using Matte painting techniques combined with traditional frame to frame animation. All this developed with modern digital animation programs. Different real locations, costumes, socio-economic and political situations of the nir-genre were analyzed and studied for more than a year to achieve realistic, suggestive, and impactful reconstructions. Chiaroscuro is not intended to be a Neo-noir or “another film noir” to the contrary, represents a very opportunity to live on deeper of the classic genre.
