indieactivity: What is your film about?
George Louridas (GL): It’s a film about the loss of dear ones and how art can recover, or not, this gap. How, on the other hand, people who are alive and next to us lose their meaning and get diminished unfairly during the grief stage. I met several people during the filming who suffered from their child losses and were relieved by the message that the film conveys.

Tell us about the festival run, marketing, and sales?
George Louridas (GL): We got 3 awards up until now and line ups in important festivals (London Greek Festival). Solon Tsounis is a renowned Greek actor star in the film. The film showcases statues by the renowned Greek sculptors Christos Kapralos and Vasilis Papasaikas. We also secured a streaming deal for Greek territory via a channel in Vimeo.
Give the full Official Synopsis for your film?
George Louridas (GL): Pavlos and Maria, a young married couple, face the recent loss of their daughter. They have to somehow deal with it. Pavlos, being a sculptor, decides to create a statue in her memory. He finds a beautiful model who triggers his inspiration but things go unexpectedly wrong. Maria watches his affection for the young model constantly growing and rings the bell for their marriage that is about to break.
Development & Financing?
George Louridas (GL): The screenplay was mine and I secured the first finance with a pitch via friends and Kickstarter crowdfunding. Next, we were lucky enough to attract the interest of a big local business which secured the rest financing.
Production?
George Louridas (GL): Director of Photography, Lizette Araceli Vargas, came from Mexico, Guadalajara, to do the shooting. So it was a unique collaboration, given the fact that we did during the pandemic as well. The test shooting started in November 2020 and took 3 days and then the actual shooting was a full week.
Festival Preparation & Strategy?
GL: We came in contact with festival organizers, people who could judge our film in a fair way and we followed their guidelines. I, also, always use a little bit of intuition and past festival experiences.
The Release?
GL: The movie is about to be released for sale (online) before the end of the year. A Greek screening (premiere) already happened in Agrinio where the film was shot.
Advice from the Filmmaker?
GL: To follow their guts and instincts and make any project possible under any circumstances.
