Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 13, 2023). Red, White and Blue is Nazrin Choudhury’s debut directorial short film. Red, White and Blue tells the moving story of Rachel. A single parent in a precarious position forced to cross state lines in search of a necessary abortion. We learn more about Rachel and the series of events that led to this journey. We learn a heartbreaking truth which means her life will never be the same again.
Logline: A young mother from Arkansas is forced to travel across state lines. In search of an urgent and necessary abortion.
This captivating short film stars Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect, John Tucker Must Die, Hairspray) alongside Juliet Donenfeld (Better Call Saul, The Laundromat), and after winning the Grand Jury Award for Best Live Action Short at Edmonton International Film Festival, qualified to be considered for a 2024 Academy® Award.
Garnering a Focus on Talent Award with DNA Films in her screenwriting debut, Nazrin Choudhury left medicine and politics to focus on writing. Awarded a scholarship by Channel4/Film 4, she graduated with the Northern Film School before going on to write for several primetime UK television shows including Casuality, Coronation Street, Doctors, Eastenders, and Waterloo Road.

Nazrin is the recipient of the Imison award for her play, Mixed Blood, and an Arts Council of England award for her novel-in-progress, My England. Continuing to work extensively across the US and UK as a writer-producer/showrunner her credits include Jack Ryan, Fear The Walking Dead and Wayward Pines. Nazrin most recently completed the screenplay for Sam Esmail’s American Radical for Universal Studios with Rami Malek attached.
Along with Nazrin, Sara McFarlane is a producer on Red, White and Blue and founder of E/S Collab., a boutique executive producing, production management and business affairs company based in New York. Sara started her career at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and See-Saw Films before moving to Fulcrum Media Finance where she worked on high-level financing transactions for film and television productions, including Academy Award nominated, LION.
After moving to New York in 2018, Sara worked with CinePointe Advisors, working with producers on feature films. Since founding E/S Collab. in 2020, Sara’s credits include Peter Hedges’ The Same Storm, Florian Zeller’s The Son, Michael Shannon’s debut feature, Eric Larue which premiered at Tribeca in 2023, and Todd Haynes’s May December which premiered in competition at Cannes Film Festival 2023.
Most recently, Sara executive produced Sing J. Lee’s debut feature film, The Accidental Get Aaway Driver, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2023 in competition.
