Los Angeles, CA (June, 1 2023)—A young gay man from an affluent Ugandan family faces deportation after a brush with the law. If returned to his homeland, he’ll face the consequences of strict anti-homosexual persecution*. As the case is taken to the courts, his Nigerian attorney also finds himself struggling to define his own cultural identity and be able to live the life he chooses with an American girl, regardless of his family’s traditional expectations. * Uganda recently passed some of the strictest anti-LGBTQ+ laws in the world.
Breaking Bounds stars Kenneth Okolie (The Royal Hibiscus Hotel), Dawn Halfkenny (Saints & Sinners), Erica Hubbard (Akeelah and the Bee), Corey Hendrix (The Bear). The film is a feature Drama, and Romance film, with a runtime of 88 Minutes.
Breaking Bounds shines a fictitious yet ripped from the headlines light on the challenges faced by African-American immigrants to be accepted for who they are, despite traditional customs, beliefs, and political turmoils in their home countries.
