Cinema Epoch to Launch on TVOD in October

Press Release: Director Rich Mallery’s Latest Feature Follows a Young Woman as She Struggles with Mental Illness, Addiction and Unrequited(?) Love
Los Angeles, CA (September 12, 2023)—Cinema Epoch is excited to announce the North American VOD release of Borderline, the latest thriller from writer-director Rich Mallery (Felines, Wicked Game).
Starring emerging talent Kate Lý Johnston and Kylee Michael, the indie thriller takes an unflinching look at the physical, emotional and eventually romantic tolls that Borderline Personality Disorder takes on Charli (Johnston).
Borderline will debut exclusively on Tubi September 15, 2023. Following a month-long window, Borderline will launch on Cable and Digital VOD, including Prime Video.
Diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder when she was 18 years old, Charli struggles maintaining healthy relationships, often feeling that the whole world is against her. She attempts to numb the pain with opiates which only drive her further away from the ones she loves.

Charli’s condition worsens when she begins developing romantic feelings for her best friend Zee, a kind soul who cares strongly for her but only in a platonic way. Refusing to take her meds, Charli’s illness worsens and her addictions take over. With no hope in sight, Charli quickly spirals out of control, forcing her to take desperate measures.
Starting out his career in distribution, Rich Mallery’s obsession with film led him to branch out to more behind-the-scenes roles where he has written/produced several feature films including “Darling Nikki,” and “Samurai Cop: Deadly Vengeance”, the sequel to the fan favorite 1980’s cult classic.
Rich soon took his love of filmmaking to the next level; writing, producing and directing his first feature “Sociopathia,” a raw and visceral horror film in the vein of genre classics like “Maniac” and “Repulsion.” Soon after Rich Mallery followed up his critically acclaimed debut by writing and directing several bold genre films including “Maid Droid”, “Felines”, “Borderline”, and “Wicked Game”.
