Los Angeles, CA (September 12, 2024). Director Krit Komkrichwarakool’s Auganic shares the story of a couple. They are financially struggling when one night they discover an unusual phenomenon. They ultimately test the boundaries of their relationship, bringing them closer than ever. This beautifully peculiar film is in qualification, in consideration for the 97th Academy® Awards. After winning the qualifying award at the Deadcenter Film Festival.
Logline: A married couple examines an unusual phenomenon when they discover a special ability during an intimate moment.
Krit Komkrichwarakool is an award-winning Thai-Canadian director/writer based in Vancouver. His previous credits include Plantontonic premiered at the Inside Out Film Festival. Freefall was the recipient of the Best Director award at Moscow Shorts. Also Best Short Film nominee at the 2018 Leo Awards.

King Louie Palomo is a Queer Filipino-Canadian Producer and Director. He is a producer of short films that have been screened at international festivals like HollyShorts. At Palm Springs Short Fest, Warsaw and many more. As a writer-director, King’s credits include Nene and Stay. He is a current 2024 CFC Norman Jewison Film Program: Director’s Lab resident.

The beautiful cinematography is a creation of award winning Canadian cinematographer Joseph Schweers. Whose narrative and documentary work has been screened at TIFF. At Tribeca and VIFF amongst many more. AUGANIC was also an official selection at Palm Springs International ShortFest, HollyShorts and Out On Film.
This phenomenal film has qualified to be considered for the 2025 Academy® Awards.
