London UK. Who. What. Where. When. Why is it important? How is it important? Apocryphal is a 33 minute short independent film by Director and Writer Joshua Armstrong, exploring  themes of mental health and drug addiction from a unique perspective. Set in modern day England, UK, the story follows the main character Oliver in police interrogation recalling the events of the last 48 hours.

Apocryphal is now being submitted to film festivals, and we wish to increase awareness of the  film before it has been judged by festivals later this year. It was originally a concept on Kickstarter, where it raised £26K, and obtained an additional £10k from an angel investor.

The story’s dedicated to a friend of the Director who passed away from heroin addiction, and any profits the Director personally makes from the film will be donated to the mental health charity Mind UK.

Directors Statement
“The film forces us to question whether we would believe  somebody kicked to the curb in life, when they claim something otherworldly has destroyed their  lives. It’s not just a science fiction or a drama. It’s a story about judging a book by its cover.

In a time of increasingly dangerous prejudice, it’s more important than ever to distinguish truth from reality. Apocryphal asks us if our prejudices obscure the truth, no matter how much we may or may not want to believe it.”
