Felissa Rose & Lew Temple Join Sadie Katz, James Pratt, Eva Hamilton, Rufus Dorsey and Randy Charach in Texas Nightmare

Los Angeles, CA (October 04, 2024). Michael Merino, (Acceleration), is set to deliver another spine-chilling thriller with his upcoming horror film, A Texas Nightmare. Felissa Rose and Lew Temple (Walking Dead) have joined the cast of A Texas Nightmare. Which already includes Sadie Katz (Wrong Turn 6 , Clutch) and James Pratt  (Malibu Crush, Longevity Hackers). In addition Eva Hamilton (Ruin me, Black Mass) and Rufus Dorsey (Pearl Harbor).

A Texas Nightmare is being produced by veteran producer Randy Charach. Whose past credits include John Travolta’s The FanaticBeyond the Law with Steven Segal. Plus, the ensemble comedy Wild Oats, with Demi Moore, Jessica Lange, and Shirley MacLaine.

The plot revolves around Angie (Katz). Who in order to complete a novel heads to an isolated home in Texas Hill County. And finds herself at the centre of a life and death struggle.

Charach Productions and MCM Films are producing the film with a release date set for early 2025.  The film starts filming in Los Angeles this month.

Michael Merino is an international award-winning director, producer, and writer. He began working on sets as a P.A. and over his early career has worked in various departments. Including Art, Camera, Electric, Grip, Hair & Make-Up, Wardrobe, Sound, Props, Catering and Construction. In addition, Merino also worked in post as an Editor before eventually focusing on Directing, Producing and Writing.

About Michael Merino
Michael directed his first feature, the award-winning action film The Deal, in 2003. Michael released The Milkman followed by the thriller 502. Which won the coveted Shakes Award at the Dead Time Film Festival, in 2010.

Michael followed up with the critically acclaimed Our Last Supper in 2012. Michael is a recipient of Best Director and Best Writer for The Haunting of Pearson Place at the 2015 Scare-A-Con film festival. The film garnered more than two dozen nominations worldwide and won more than 20 awards. He won Best Director and Best Screenplay for short films Times Up and Dream On at the WMIFF in 2014.

Michael’s recognition for his regional commercial and training video work from 2013-2017. In 2016, he produced, wrote, and directed the web series DRAKUL, released in 2017. In 2019 Michael wrote and Directed the action/thriller ACCELERATION (BEST DIRECTOR-NIAFFS Spain 2020). It starred Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, Chuck Liddell, Natalie Burn and Sean Patrick Flanery. Michael divides his time between Austin, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. He is likes being a cheeky Pirate.
