Plus its devastating effect on struggling families directed by Duvan Duque
Duván Duque directs an Oscar® qualifying short All-Inclusive. It highlights the tempting power of illegal money in Colombia. Its potential devastating effects on struggling families
Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 20, 2023). All Inclusive is written and directed by Duván Duque. The live action short follows eleven year-old Fer. As he is traveling to a countryside resort with his father and stepmother looking for both business and pleasure. All-Inclusive portrays a fragile family that is shaken when Fer’s desperate father faces the possibility of money laundering. As a way out of their financial struggles, putting Fer’s precious bond with his stepmother at risk.
Logline: Eleven-year-old Fer travels with his family to a countryside resort a few hours outside Bogotá. Although Fer’s father will be doing business. He has promised to make time for family fun, something that has been missing from their lives for a while.
By shifting the focus from the spectacular tales of drug lords to the emotional ride of a boy who has little control over his fate, Duván Duque offers us a fresh angle on this common trope of the representation of Colombian society. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and qualified to be considered for a 2024 Academy® Award after winning Best Drama at Aspen Shortfest.
