Freestyle Digital Media Acquires Ulam: Main Dish For July Release

Los Angeles, CA (June 19, 2023). Freestyle Digital Media is the digital film distribution division of Allen Media Group. It has acquired North American VOD rights to the Filipino food documentary feature film Ulam: Main Dish. Ulam: Main Dish will be available to rent/own on all digital outlets. HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms, as well on DVD, starting on July 11, 2023, through Freestyle Digital Media.

Ulam: Main Dish is the first food documentary following the rise of the Filipino-American food movement. In this delicious documentary, Emmy-nominated Filipino-American filmmaker Alexandra Cuerdo demonstrates how Filipino food, long considered the underdog of Asian cuisines, is having its moment at last.

Ulam: Main Dish was chosen by culinary titan Jonathan Gold as centerpiece screening for the Los Angeles Times Food Bowl in 2017, and went on to galvanize the Filipino food movement, inspiring chefs around the world to open new Filipino restaurants. Gold called the film a “love letter to Filipino cooking in America.”
