The Deportation of a Model Citizen directed by Jacob Pilgaard is a thrilling story of a young Syrian girl facing deportation in Denmark, which is based on real events. This is an important film that highlights the reality that is for many citizens immigrating to Denmark today. This intense film is in qualification to be for the 95th Academy Awards.

Logline: Two young police officers are to escort a well-integrated student to the airport where she is to be deported back to Syria. A touching and hard-hitting drama created with inspiration from a true story.

Director Jacob Pilgaard studied screenwriting from the Danish film school 18Frames in 2015. His films are in over 100 international film festivals. They have won almost 90 awards. His film, “INCIDENT AT SCHOOL”, is in selection for 6 Oscar qualifying festivals winning an award at the prestigious Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. His most recent short film THE DEPORTATION OF A MODEL CITIZEN is in qualification for a 2023 Oscar®.

This phenomenal short is by producer Kiril Schjørring, who is currently a producer assistant on features and commercials for various companies in Copenhagen.

The emotional composition is the creation of Rasmus Juncker and Anna Roemer, the excellent cinematography is by Kristian Arbs.
