Same Old by Director Lloyd Lee Choi is the story of a Chinese delivery driver in New York City. Lu discovers his e-bike is stolen. One bad night for a NYC delivery driver. And he must now come to terms with the fragility of the life he built in America. Same Old qualifies for consideration for the 95th Academy® Awards.
Same Old is an official selection at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. As part of the Palme d’Or competition, it is the only US film in the line-up of 9 films. Right after Cannes, Same Old has screened at Toronto International Film Festival (Special Jury Mention), New York Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, and Seminci. The film also won 1st place at the 2022 HBO max APA Visionaries Awards.
Korean-Canadian director and writer Lloyd Lee Choi, who recently signed on with WME for representation, is currently developing a feature film based on Same Old. He is part of the 30 under 30 by Marketing Mag for his work in advertising.

His most recent film, Closing Dynasty, was supported and funded through the Future Gold Film Fellowship, being 1 of just 3 filmmakers selected by Netflix, Tribeca Studios, and Gold House.
Same Old was co-produced by Tony Yang, who has helped produce 3 feature films and over 30 short films, which have screened at numerous festivals, including the Palm Springs International Shortfest, Toronto International Film Festival, New York Film Festival, and more. In addition to Lloyd Lee Choi’s independent film-producing work, he has worked at several production companies including The Population (founded by Mollye Asher, Derek Nguyen, & Mynette Louie).
The stunning cinematography was captured by Canadian Screen Awarded cinematographer Norm Li. The film will soon screen at Raindance Film Festival and Stockholm International Film Festival amongst others. International sales are handled by Salaud Morisset (Skin, NIMIC, Les Miserebles).
