Logline: When a devoted husband and father is left home alone for the weekend, two stranded young women unexpectedly knock on his door for help. A sexy new thriller from director Eli Roth and written for the screen by Eli Roth & Nicolás López & Guillermo Amoedo and story by Anthony Overman and Michael Ronald, KNOCK KNOCK stars Keanu Reeves as the family man who falls into temptation and Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas as the seductresses who wreak havoc upon his life, turning a married man’s dark fantasy into his worst nightmare. KNOCK KNOCK will be released by Lionsgate Premiere in theaters and On Demand on October 9th.
Review: This is one of the worst movies of 2015. I had expectations for this movie, after I saw the trailer. Let’s go to the positives. First, Eli Roth does great at building dramatic tension in the scenes between Keanu Reeves and the girls. Keanu Reeves gave a stellar performance. The second act was also very interesting. That’s pretty all of it. The movie failed on most counts – the performance of Lorenza and Ana were below the quality of the movie. The first act felt like an adult movie, although Keanu’s performance lifted it. The movie didn’t progress logically or cinematically. For example, there was no logical sense to the torture of Keanu’s Character. The end was inconclusive, dis-satisfying.There are so many plot holes in the movie which I’m will not mention
Recommendation: In the end “Knock Knock” is a property wasted. But, Eli Roth fans are going to have a great time watching the movie.
