Suppression. Adam Morse has been breaking barriers by emerging as the world’s first blind action star, he was horse riding and sword fighting in season two of APPLE TV+’s ‘SEE’, proving that differently-abled performers like himself can put an end to the outdated stigma associated with disability.
Morse cements the fact that blind actors can do much more than only play blind characters, as he more than convincingly plays a sighted killer in new psychological crime drama ‘SUPPRESSION‘. This live-action short film is Ukrainian-British producer and actress Julia Varvara’s directorial debut.
Synopsis: SUPPRESSION shares a story of a damaged psychoanalyst played by Gary Beadle (Persuasion, Silent Witness). A man who is forced to look inside himself and face his own demons. When detained killer Adam Morse gets under his skin.

Director Julia Varvara was inspired to highlight the film’s key theme of mental health and is motivated now more than ever to share her views on the subject since the outbreak of war in her home country of Ukraine, to promote her film’s message of how important it is to communicate troubling issues rather than syooress them.
Julia Varvara is best known for producing Adam Morse’s directorial debut Lucid (2019) which stars Billy Zane. She moved to London in 2012 to study screen acting at ISSA and filmmaking at MET Film School. Since graduating from drama school, Varvara has appeared in numerous films and was cast as the lead role in the renowned Russian play LOLITA by V. Nabokov. Varvara is now developing a slate of feature films under her production companies MORVARA ENTERTAINMENT and HOLLYFIELD PRODUCTIONS.
Adam Morse is the world’s first award-winning blind filmmaker. Adam lost his eyesight at the age of nineteen in 2009 when he was diagnosed with a rare mitochondrial disease LHON, since then, Morse has gone against all odds to break barriers in the entertainment industry by becoming a trailblazer for differently-abled artists everywhere after the critical success of his feature film debut LUCID which was released on AMAZON in 2020. Adam has also made headlines for becoming a “BLIND ACTION STAR” after appearing in a recurring role in APPLE TV+ series ‘SEE’ (starring Jason Momoa) where he performed his own stunts on screen. Morse has recently co-founded OUTLYER ENTERTAINMENT, a new production studio and management agency to make the film industry more accessible and inclusive.
‘SUPPRESSION’ will screen in Hollywood at the Chinese Theatre at HollyShorts Film Festival for its LA PREMIERE, 7:30 PM MONDAY AUGUST 15.
