Los Angeles, CA. Award-winning writer/director Eitan Pitigliani’s SISSY is a modern fable drawing inspiration from Pitiglinai’s mothers untimely passing. SISSY shares the story of a young man saved by a little girl. After he spirals out of control due to the loss mother.
It begins its festival run as SISSY is selection to two Oscar-Qualifying film festivals. The 46th Cleveland International Film Festival where it premiered in April. SISSY recently screened at Italy’s premiere festival Giffoni. This touching film will also screen at Flickers’ Rhode Island Film Festival.
Synopsis: After his mother’s death, Luca finds he has hit rock bottom. Living on the streets among the homeless, to somehow feel closer to her. He finally decides to go back home for his father’s birthday where something magical just might happen.

Eitan Pitigliani studied at the prestigious London Film Academy, as well as The New York Film Academy. His first short film IN THIS LIFE, was selected by several film festivals. It received a letter of praise from the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano. His second short film YOU WILL FIND ME won the Golden Spike Award at the Giffoni Film Festival in 2014 and was selected at numerous film festivals.
In 2015 Eitan realized LIKE A BUTTERFLY, which was produced in collaboration with Rai Cinema. It won more than 20 international awards and starred the 5-time Golden Globe and 7-time Emmy Winner, Ed Asner. In 2018, Eitan directed INSANE LOVE, which was produced by Paradise Pictures with Rai Cinema. This award-winning short film was selected for more than 50 international film festivals worldwide.
SISSY, produced by Movi Production with Rai Cinema, is Eitan’s latest short film, and world premierd at the 46th Cleveland Intl Film Festival. This talented director is now in preparation for his first feature film.
A MOVI production with RAI CINEMA, produced by Martina Borzillo and by the Oscar-winner Andrew Carlberg (who won the Academy Award for “Skin” in 2019 and was nominated in 2021 for “Feeling Through”), SISSY was edited by two-time David Di Donatello’s winner Marco Spoletini (“Gomorrah”, “Dogman”), scored by Israeli Television Award winning composer Avi Belleli, choreographed by Anna Cuocolo (winner of the Leonide Massine Award in Positano for the Art of Dance), here also associate producer along with Bojana Sutic and Walter Volpatto.
The sound was curated by the David di Donatello’s winner Andrea Moser, the costumes were realized by Eva Coen, the make-up & special effect designing was made by the 2-time Oscar nominee Vittorio Sodano (Mel Gibson’s “Apocalypto”, Paolo Sorrentino’s “Il Divo”) and the cinematography was created by Antonio De Rosa.
The film stars Vincenzo Vivenzio, Fortunato Cerlino, Mirella D’Angelo and, for the first time on screen, the 7 year-old little girl Dea Lanzaro.
SISSY is dedicated to the director’s late mother Caterina, and recently screened at Giffoni and is currently screening at Rhode Island International Film Festival.
