FILM FESTIVAL: 7th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival

We have, since 2008 hundreds of films screened at the Festival have gained critical recognition, received commercial distribution, and reached worldwide audiences eager for fresh perspectives and new voices. With over 300 films screened and 72 awards distributed, the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival promotes and disseminates the Brazilian audiovisual at the world capital of cinema, Hollywood.

Now in its 17th year, the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival is now the most prestigious Brazilian film festival outside Brazil. Showcasing the best in new Brazilian cinema and providing the movie-loving public with access to some of the most critically important Brazilian filmmakers, film industry professionals, and emerging new talent by bringing them together in the heart of the world’s entertainment capital. The Festival features special programs including a Filmmakers’ Retreat, several panels, intimate Coffee Talks, and much more. Additionally, the Festival screens short films created by Brazilian talents living in the United States.

Please read before submitting your movie:
All shorts MUST be only up to 20 minutes long.
All movies are running a subtitle with subtitles in English.
If your movie is an outside Brazil production in English no subtitles are necessary.
Submitting your film does not guarantee festival acceptance or screening. Acceptance into
the festival does not guarantee an award or prize. Submission fees are non-refundable.
LABRFF reserves the right to change its programming without notice.
The festival is not responsible for your airline tickets and/or hotel to attend the event.
LABRFF does not pay screening fees.
The festival is not responsible for your subtitles, however, we do have a vendor to recommend.
We only accept shorts with a maximum of 20 min. No exceptions.
We do not return promotional material sent to us to promote your movie.
You must provide us with all the metadata and trailer in ENGLISH.
If your film is a choice you must provide all materials in English including a trailer, digital poster, metadata, etc. All movies will be in screening via digital DCP. Once your movie is in selection, you will send the link directly to the theater.
If your film or project is in selection, LABRFF does not guarantee airline tickets/transportation/any expenses related to your participation. Also, all materials put in to LABRFF remain with LABRFF.
